Andrew Dyrli Hermeling
Andrew Dyrli Hermeling was born in Newport, RI; baptized in Annapolis, MD; raised between Bethany, WV, Bloomington, IN, and Carlisle, PA; and educated at Messiah College in Grantham, PA. A lifelong Episcopalian and disciple of postcolonial history, he now resides in Harrisburg, PA with his lovely wife. In his spare time he plays ukulele, is working on a sf novel, and serves on the vestry of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Theologically he advocates LGBTQ acceptance within the church, pacifism, consubstantiation, postcolonialism, women in ministry, and prefers “high” church liturgical worship. Politically he is liberal although his opinions on school choice, abortion rights, and the welfare system fall more right of center. He believes in ensuring the rights of all individuals, opposes civic religion, and advocates civic education and responsibility. Culturally his interests include postcolonial literature and history, pop music, amateur philosophy, film, and Cardinals baseball.
